The Radicati Group unveiled their latest report today, entitled On-Premises Corporate Unified Communications Market, 2005-2009. The Radicati report forecasts healthy growth in the market over the next four years, largely driven and supported by emerging technologies such as VoIP, SIP, and a range of access technologies.
Revenue is set to grow from $469M in 2005, to $939M in 2009, as Corporate Unified Communication vendors put forward a more convincing business case.
I started with CTI magazine back in 1996. It was being hailed as the “Year of Unified Messaging.” We’ve seen wonderful ideas come and go (Wildfire anyone???), and great marketing promises remain unfulfilled.
Can it finally be the “year of unified communications?” Or are we on track to handle that paperless office situation first?
