Optivon Selects Tekelec's Application Server to Deploy VoIP Services
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2005--Tekelec (NASDAQ:TKLC), a leading developer of telecommunications products for next-generation fixed, mobile and packet networks, today announced that Optivon Inc. has chosen the Tekelec 6000 Application Server (formerly the VocalData Application Server) to deploy Voice over IP (VoIP) hosted services in the United States and Latin America.
Optivon's hosted VoIP service, enabled by the Tekelec 6000, provides nationwide coverage including a robust and flexible set of next-generation features and applications. Using Tekelec's robust application server, the operator will create differentiated, value-added VoIP services such as unified communications and personal agent applications that give businesses consolidated control of calls, voicemail and e-mail.
