Impressed With Gates

December 6, 2005

Nice going Bill. I am all for bananas that don't need refrigeration and mosquitoes that spread vitamins.

If these ideas work how about new ones like dogs that use litter boxes or birds that are respectful of vehicles when nature calls. Ok these are certainly not in the spirit of what Gates is proposing but I'd still like to see someone make these ideas happen.

Colorado VoIP

December 6, 2005

I recently arrived in Colorado and it is absolutely freezing. The gusts of wind are up to 95 MPH and the temperature is around 25 or so without the wind chill. The bright side?? The scenery is beautiful -- if you don't have to get out of your car. Moreover the people are very friendly -- some of the friendliest I have ever met.

If you aren't aware, Colorado is the 911 capital of the world. Many of the country's 911 companies are here and as you might imagine, business is doing pretty well.

Companies like Intrado are focusing on how to drive next-gen 911 services and Level 3 is continuing to provide the world's service providers with attractive 911 solutions.

In all I sense real excitement about the prospects for Colorado based VoIP companies. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. I am happy for all these companies and I hope the red-hot VoIP market rubs off on the weather today.

Cisco IMS

It looks like the IMS market is really heating up as evidenced by Cisco's entry into the space.
