Nortel and Huawei
Here is the latest on Nortel and Huawei and how they may work together going forward. This is after they killed a joint venture. I am still wondering why Huawei is not making a bigger splash in the US. They seem to be threatening to come to the states in a bigger way but they just don’t seem to pull the trigger.

Google Happenings
One wonders if we are becoming too obsessed with this company. Is Google the next Brangelina? I wouldn't be surprised to see the Google execs in the supermarket tabloids in the next few months.
A Brilliant Move By Vonage
For this the stock got hammered.
Here is my question.
If so many people are focusing on Vonage’s amazingly high cost of customer acquisition, why is it bad for Vonage to spend a far less amount to keep a customer on their network?
The phone companies do the exact same thing.
This isn't a new practice.
I think it is very smart and it doesn’t seem like something worth punishing the company for. Rather they should be rewarded.

Their products sit at the border of the Internet and the FMC core and provide. They see the session border controller companies as competition in the VoIP space.
They feel that the SBC makers are going to have a tough time providing security in the IMS space. This is due to the fact that IMS applications deal with more than just voice. For example mobile video is an application that SBCs will have to deal with soon.
The point is that the company's products are already being used in environments where they protect voice, video and data. In addition the company's equipment can scale to a million media users. This is how that happens -- half a million users can be running 2 simultaneous applications and can be connected to one of their security gateway boxes at the same time.
They have an existing Alcatel relationship -- the French telecom giant resells their products, and they will be likely working with other big telecom providers in a similar capacity soon.
