Another Successful Show Over

May 17, 2007

Thanks to the TMC team, sponsors and attendees that made TMC's Communications Developer Conference such a big success. Special thanks to Avaya, Cisco and Pactolus for chosing to have their developer days at this event.

Now the few TMC team members left in Santa Clara are unwinding with lettuce wraps at PF Changs. :)

Digium/Asterisk's Kevin Fleming is keynoting TMC's Communications Developer Conference and kicked off his presentation by dispelling the myth that Asterisk is only an open-source PBX. In fact he says it is much much more.

Contributors to Asterisk do not come from Greenland or Antarctica but according to Kevin they come from everywhere else.

Cisco Keynote: Communications DevCon

May 17, 2007

Parvesh Sethi from Cisco keynotes at TMC's Communications Developer Conference about the power of VoIP and leveraging communications by integrating it into business processes. He says you need to leverage all interfaces available to you and discusses how the definition of applications and consumers is changing. We need access to our information anytime, anywhere. This is the key he says.

Like virtually all keynoters to date at this show he discussed how mashups have the power to change the way we communicate.

Latest CommDev News

May 17, 2007
Here is some of the latest news from TMC’s Communications Developer Conference which so far has been a tremendous success from the standpoint of attendance quality and quantity. In addition the conferees have been extremely happy with all the sessions. As always one or two speakers was flagged as being too commercial and we will not allow such speakers to present at future TMC events.

A few speakers who have been complemented over and over are Alan Percy and Sharone Ben Levi of Audiocodes, Lawrence Byrd from Avaya (one person even complemented his great slides), Aculab’s Ian Colville (multiple Led Zeppelin references helped already good content) and Kerry Garrison from Fonality who gave a totally noncommercial presentation and presented the audience with opportunities to make money in open-source.
