Friendly Texans

I love the people of Texas. They are without a doubt some of the friendliest and nicest people I have ever encountered and regarding IP communications the companies I met with this past week really welcome you. I just thought this was worth sharing.

EVDO Rev. A from Verizon

I was one of the first users of the Verizon 1xRTT network and again their EVDO network. I just took the plunge and am now an EVDO Revision A customer. I just got the card working in my laptop. I am pretty excited. It is actually sad that having faster access while traveling makes me so happy but that is the sad reality.
 
Lately most of my work on the road seems to be in a car. It is amazing how productive you can be on a train, automobile or just about anywhere else. I just did some research to find out where EVDO (Rev. A) works and to my happy surprise, Verizon says their entire broadband wireless network has been upgraded. Tata Acquires Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford

A major passion of mine is automobiles but I rarely write about the subject. I a just learned India’s Tata will purchase Land Rover and Jaguar from Ford. This is pretty big news as it puts an Indian company behind a few important luxury brands.
 
Jaguar has been struggling a great deal lately and it will be interesting to see how this acquisition plays out. This could also be a great distribution move for Tata as with this acquisition it gets dealers around the world which could theoretically help the company sell other Indian car brands as well.

Update: Thanks to commenter “annoyed visitor” for pointing out this news is not confirmed by Tata. My source did indicate this was a done deal but further research shows this may not be the case.
 
My sincere apologies for any confusion this blog entry may have caused. However, it is worth pointing out this news may just be early, not inaccurate. Time will tell.
