September 9, 2007

One lucky winner will get this ultimate gadget mobile loaded with GPS, DVD, bluetooth and more. By the way the exhibit hall is being set up today and opens tomorrow.

The Los Angeles area is going under tremendous renovations with construction on every corner. I am looking forward to staying at the new hotels and seeing the new buildings completed.

Broadband Speed at Wilshire Grand

September 9, 2007
I just ran a speed test on the broadband in the Wilshire Grand hotel – show hotel of Internet Telephony Conference & Expo and I found the download speed is 315 kbps and the upload is 821 kbps. I expect when thousands of attendees roll into town this will slow a bit but for now it is more than acceptable.

I used the Speakeasy broadband speed test by the way.

Hope to see you all here in sunny Los Angeles, CA very soon. There is a Fonality event I will be attending later today to kick things off.

Walking in LA

September 9, 2007

Finally landed here in LA. It is good to be on ground. I am looking forward to seeing my team at TMC and seeing the industry this week. I am also looking forward to seeing thousands of new buyers at ITEXPO.

ITEXPO West 2007 Coverage

September 9, 2007
Hats off to VoIP News for some great writing regarding Internet Telephony Conference & Expo. Here is an accurate description of what the show is all about. Ken Camp also weighs in on the conference in his Realtime Community blog focusing on Unified Communications.

Thank you both for the coverage. As I mentioned yesterday more and more ITEXPO speakers are becoming bloggers which is absolutely fantastic. I am happy to see TMC speakers educating buyers 24x7 about the benefits of IP communications.

Off to ITEXPO West 2007

September 9, 2007
I am sitting in the airport this morning on my way to LA and reading Russell Shaw’s coverage of new research which discusses how websites of telecom companies are no good. Russell says this is information we already know. Interestingly I didn’t really notice this as a problem until now. Perhaps I am just used to these sites as they really have always been the same. It will be great to discuss this with Russell tomorrow at ITEXPO in Los Angeles.

As I look outside the airport window it looks like clear skies which hopefully means a great flight to what I am sure will be a great show.
