Call Centers Aid Iowa

Time and time again, today's call center industry -- especially outsourcing companies such as West, APAC, Infocision and others have helped benefit mankind by offering their services to help with worthy causes. For example, many charity events have incoming donation calls fielded by outsourcing companies. In times of disasters too, call center companies have donated their telecom equipment and agents.

Today in fact, there is a calamity in Iowa that some are equating in magnitude to hurricane Katrina... According to written reports, rising water from the Cedar River forced the evacuation of a downtown hospital Friday after residents of more than 3,000 homes fled for higher ground. A railroad bridge collapsed, and 400 city blocks were under water. In this case, a fundraising arm for a nonprofit agency is fielding emergency calls from local residents.
