Cyara: Don't Forget the Customer Experience in Digital Transformation

October 15, 2018

As companies embrace digital transformation (DX), they shouldn’t forget about the customer experience (CX) says Elizabeth Magill, Senior Director, Product Marketing at Cyara in an exclusive interview. Cyara automates testing and monitoring.

We first introduced this company to you in 2011 where we told you this:

And what they did for the bank was to help them take disparate solutions handling IVR, speech, complex routing algorithms, Websphere, java apps and more and integrate them more efficiently to dramatically improve customer satisfaction.

In 2013 we explained how the company is improving service levels, specifically at Franklin Templeton. In 2016 we had a video interview with the company explaining how Cyara helps their customers innovate faster.

Telestax: Carriers Must be Ready for CPaaS 2.0

September 24, 2018

A massive shift took place in telecom with the advent of VoIP and SIP. Carriers who initially downplayed the reliability of both, eventually got on board after 2003 when Vonage started to take residential share and Skype started to become a more obvious threat.

Eventually, SIP trunking became a way for communications service providers or CSPs to make money from IP communications.

Another transformation is taking place in telecom - this time it's CPaaS companies such as Twilio and Nexmo (part of Vonage). The space has high valuations and is taking away high-margin transactions from carriers. They are slowly morphing into CSPs themselves through software.

Carriers are now facing competition on the low-end in the form of consumer VoIP as well as on the high-end where CPaaS providers continue to take away enterprise business.

The solution is to use a white-label solution so carriers can quickly  compete with CPaaS vendors and protect their turf according to Kevin Nethercott, VP of Business Development at Telestax who spoke to us in an exclusive interview.

May 17, 2018

Martello Technologies has become one of the more interesting players in the SD-WAN space - by purchasing Elfiq - one of the first if not the first players in the space. From there, they combined SD-WAN with service assurance... From quality management to remediation.

She continued by explaining the company has subsecond failovers, hybrid WAN solutions, a UC site qualification tool and more. Customers can see in advance how many calls the network can concurrently support.

In addition, they offer a STREAM VPN engine which encrypts per flow and offers zero-touch provisioning.

The LBX700 Link Balancer provides throughput of 800 Mbps, 512 VPN tunnels and support for up to 14 ISPs

Tracy explained there is no limit to how many sites which can be meshed with their new ATLAS SDWAN solution.

FracTEL Advances Conference Call Security

April 30, 2018

Citing the common theft of conference call pin codes in places like political campaigns, Michael Crown, President of FracTEL told us in an exclusive interview, his company's SKRUM solution announced at ITEXPO earlier this year, securely calls participants instead of relying on them to enter pin codes. He said, "Conference calls are expensive." He continued, "At the end, nothing happens. Calls aren't actionable."

This is why FracTEL is focusing on changing this. At the conclusion of a call, they perform recording and transcript analysis.

CounterPath Now does Collaboration

April 15, 2018

President and CEO Donovan Jones

Years before it was fashionable, CounterPath had a soft-client, allowing an app to give mobile devices compatibility with virtually all SIP phone systems. The company's Bria softphone was so ahead of its time, it is pretty incredible that CounterPath hasn't become a household name.

Perhaps that will change as the company recently launched its Stretto Platform for collaboration. We aren't sure we are huge fans of the name Stretto but we are fans of the solutions the company offers. CounterPath can now overlay seamless collaboration on all PBXs. All this while, providing provisioning, battery saving technology, messaging, presence and more.

The benefits become clear when you think about it.

March 27, 2018

NEC has been a technology leader in the communications space for decades and as the market has evolved to UC and UCaaS, they haven't kept up. That however is changing and NEC is bringing the power of it's tech portfolio to assist in sales of its telecom solutions.

In an exclusive in-person interview with Ram Menghani (pictured above), VP Product Management, he explained the company is seeing cloud at around 12-15 percent of revenue. To do better, they are building out their global data centers to remain competitive and perhaps leapfrog some of their UCaaS competitors.

Talkdesk Really Differentiates with Enterprise Contact Center

March 19, 2018

In a short amount of time Talkdesk has amassed 1,400 global customers according to an exclusive interview we had with CEO, Tiago Paiva (above left; Yours Truly on the right).

We've followed his company's progress since inception and through sheer will and a tremendous investment in engineering and development, the company has lured away many customers from not only legacy systems but other cloud providers. They bill themselves as a next-gen cloud using microservices, an API-driven CPaaS communication layer, built-in SMS, omnichannel and many integrations like Salesforce and ServiceNOW. They also have adopted the latest cybersecurity standards and guidelines such as SOCII, BPDR, HIPAA and PCI-DDS.

Talkdesk AppConnect

Tiago explains much of the reason for the company's rapid growth is due to the fact that nobody likes their contact center solutions. By focusing on things like quick set-up (about four weeks), free online training, AppConnect app store, custom dashboards, self-service changes and  data-based routing, the company's commitment to innovation is leading to market share gains.

Talkdesk Data-Based Routing

In addition, the system has an average 4.22 MOS score, greater than 99.99% uptime and six global data centers.

Customers include IBM, MongoDB and companies whose names we can't disclose.

IPTechView RMM from ABP Fills Important MSP Gap

March 2, 2018

According to Robert Messer CEO of ABP, the company's new IPTechView RMM, launched at ITEXPO, February in 2018, gives MSPS and VARs the ability to monitor and control virtually all the devices on their customer networks. PBXs, switches, IP cameras, IP phones, IoT, etc. The highly secure system is compatible with the GPDR standard for cybersecurity in Europe which means it should be fine for use in the U.S. and elsewhere.

The solution is meant to be complimentary to software from SolarWinds, Kaseya, Autotask and ConnectWise as it does not manage the PCs like they do.

What we liked best about it was the ability to see real-time views from the cameras it manages.
