Voice Peering Conference at ITEXPO in LA this October

Everyone probably knows I have been a huge proponent of the voice/VoIP peering space for the last five years. A few of the first people get me enthused about the space were Shrihari Pandit of Stealth Communications and Hunter Newby who is now at Allied Fiber. Over the years, we at TMC have held numerous educational sessions on peering at ITEXPO and recently we have had calls to increase the coverage of peering at the show.

The reason? Voice peering is a fantastic way to save money while improving voice quality. In fact, quite often calls which originate as high-quality communications on IP networks have to be scaled down when they interconnect over the PSTN.

In order for IP communications to take advantage of its quality potential, peering must be in place so we can have end-to-end calls of the highest quality afforded by the codecs we use and the bandwidth at our disposal.

For this reason I invite you to the newest event in the peering space – Voice Interconnect and Peering Conference (VIPeering) in conjunction with partners AU24 Inc (AU24), and Crossfire Media (CFM).   The one-day conference is planned for Tuesday, October 5, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA and will be collocated with ITEXPO, 4GWE, and Smart Grid Summit conferences at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Please check out the press release below for more and I would love to see you participate as a speaker, attendee and/or sponsor:

TMC, Partners Announce Voice Interconnect and Peering Conference to Be Collocated with ITEXPO

Registration, Call for Speaking Proposals, Sponsorships, and Media Participation Opened for Fall 2010 Event in Los Angeles

NORWALK, CT – April 26, 2010. – Technology Marketing Company (TMC), announced today the launch of Voice Interconnect and Peering Conference (VIPeering) in conjunction with partners AU24 Inc (AU24), and Crossfire Media (CFM).   The one-day conference is planned for Tuesday, October 5, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA and will be collocated with ITEXPO, 4GWE, and Smart Grid Summit conferences at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

In addition, the partners also announced the launch of a webinar series, and online news portal focused on Voice Interconnect and Peering. Details for the webinars and site will be released in a forthcoming release.

As today’s PSTN interconnect models become increasingly inefficient and uneconomical, Communications Service Providers, Carriers and Enterprises are looking to implement IP level, application aware interconnects. The VI Peering Conference is for those service providers, carriers and enterprises looking to innovate and survive in this new paradigm for communications.

VI Peering conference will explore the technologies and practices that carriers and service providers will need to implement in order to keep pace with consumer and business demand for end to end advanced IP communication services, including:

  • Interconnection Federations
  • Co-location & Ethernet Fabrics,
  • VoIP Carrier Equipment and Software providers
  • Number portability and Registry providers
  • VoIP Origination and Termination Aggregators
  • Video Telephony and IP communications applications providers

“We are very excited to develop the new VIPeering conference with two strong partners, TMC and Crossfire Media (CFM), both of whom share a long standing experience on the subject of Peering and Next-Gen interconnects” said Hugh Goldstein, Managing Director of AU24. “This event will serve as a forum for carriers, service providers and enterprises to share ideas and expand their bilateral and multi-lateral industry interconnect relationships.”

According to TMC’s CEO Rich Tehrani, the Voice Interconnect and Peering Conference provides a forum for the thousands of service providers who attend ITEXPO to network and learn how to operate more efficiently.

“ITEXPO has long been a gathering place for carriers seeking solutions to more effectively deliver services to their subscribers. Adding the Voice Interconnect and Peering Conference to the program increases the value these carriers gain from their trip to the event,” said Tehrani.

Conference registration, Call for Papers applications, media, and sponsorship inquires are all available via the event Web site.

Companies interested in exhibit and sponsorship opportunities should contact TMC’s VP of events, Joe Fabiano – 203-852-6800, x 132.
