Here is a long term update on my Tissot High-T watch which when working properly is a technological marvel. My original review which was quite favorable can be found here.
While the watch is certainly state of the art… It does break often. Mine has broken twice in about eighteen months. The first time the watch took 2-3 months to repair and get back to me.
The watch recently broke again and I am going through the same waiting period it seems. I have to deal with a dealer in New York who does not pick up the phone and a Tissot headquarters who seems to think customer service is only for other companies and doesn’t apply to customers shelling out hundreds of dollars for their watches.
With all the talk about Swiss engineering, it is the Swiss customer service that is much more important to me than the precision of their timepieces. I don’t mind losing a few seconds a month on my watch. I do mind waiting months on the year for my Tissot watch to be fixed.

In my opinion TISSOT CUSTOMER SERVICE is NONEXISTENT! Anyone who purchases a Tissot Watch is extremely vulnerable.
I have spent four months trying to get an issue over Swiss Service Center’s warranty resolved. I have even involved the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. Yet, Swiss Service Center refuses to contact me.

August 5, 2008 at 7:06 amIn response to John Mayer’s comment on the problem with Tissot watch service,I too have had bad experiences with this time piece and the so called service under warranty at the NY city Swiss Watch Center. The Watch , a goldtone Seastar 21 jewel day- date automatic was purchase brand new and broke down within 6 months of careful use. Then over to the service center at 42nd street. After a month and a half or two watch comes back. Keeps bad time; stem improperly attached, very tight. keeps bad time. There seemed to be only one man there who attended to verything. Service center at Tissot “nonexistant” Truly, the experience is bad.I hope Tissot company people see this and attend to the matter.

June 8, 2009 at 2:43 pmThe reason I found this thread is because I wanted to contact Tissot headquarters regarding really bad customer service and my watch is under warranty and they seem not to be able to fix the temperature gauge for me. I have a T-touch and the temp is 2*C inaccurate. They told me that this is within tolerances and they refused to fix it. If I had known, I would not spend at least $400 on a watch to have in-accurate readings. I should have really bought the Casio Pathfinder.
Sorry, this is my last Tissot ever. I am really disappointed.
Good luck
