1-800-Free-411 Offers Free International Calls

I have used 1-800-free-411 in the past and find it to be a useful service. The way it works – you listen to ads and get free directory assistance. Now the company allows free international phone calls. In order to get this feature to work you just say “free call” when prompted and dial the country code and the international number. If you want to call the US you start dialing with a 1.

I tested the service out with a few short calls and didn’t have any problems. In return for making the call, you do have to listen to a second short ad. Here is the press release for details:

Sabse Technologies Enables 1-800-Free411’s Free International Calls,
Handles Nearly 5 Million Calls Since Launch

Telephony-as-a-Service platform selected
to help grow Jingle Networks’ ad-supported services portfolio

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Dec. 16, 2009 – Sabse Technologies Inc., a leading telephony-as-a-service (TAAS) company, announced today that Jingle Networks, operator of the nation’s leading ad-supported directory assistance service 1-800-FREE411, has selected Sabse’s TAAS platform and global termination network to enable the free five-minute international calls offered to 1-800-FREE411 users.

Since being deployed for 1-800-FREE411 earlier this year, the Sabse platform has seamlessly handled nearly 5 million calls on behalf of Jingle Networks. Callers use the 1-800-FREE411 ad-supported service for information as an alternative to higher-priced directory assistance. By simply saying “free call,” they can also make a free five-minute call to almost anywhere in the world.

“In this tight economic climate we’re pleased to offer our users a way to connect with their loved ones and friends all around the world for free,” said Jingle Networks CEO Scott Kliger.  “Sabse has truly been a turnkey partner; the integration and rollout of international calling as a feature of our 1-800-FREE411 service has been smooth and worry-free.  That allows us to focus on our primary business of growing and serving our base of users and advertisers.”

Sabse acquired the robust voice-application and network-management platform in September when it took over Mobivox, of Montreal, which developed its many sophisticated capabilities.  Only two months earlier, fast-growing Sabse expanded its services portfolio by acquiring Jaxtr, one of world’s largest social-communications companies.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Jingle Networks as another proof point that our telephony-as-a-service platform can be used in innovative ways to monetize other services,” said Sabse CEO Yogesh Patel.  “We acquired Mobivox earlier this year because we were confident we could help partners like Jingle Networks find ways to grow their businesses.  The success of 1-800-FREE411 proves it can be done.”

Hi. The word “FREE” is the numbers 3733 too, according to your mobile keypad. In number 3 is D,E and F letters. It’s like a T9 writing. F in 3, R in 7 and “3” 2 more times for EE 🙂 Also can dial 1-800GOOG411 (1-8004664411) 🙂
