PCM Enhances Collaboration Portfolio

PCM is the 2.3 billion dollar a year organization you may not have heard of. They were once PC Mall – remember those catalogs we all used to get? Actually, remember catalogs?

About four years ago they spun out professional and consultative practices focusing on security, hybrid data center, Microsoft and more recently, collaboration.

The super-dynamic Paul Harrold (pictured left, Your’s Truly on the right) who is the VP of Collaboration ran Epoch Universal which delivered complex network integrations. The company was acquired to help build out a collaboration practice. This includes a Cisco Contact Center practice – now PCM is one of 30 companies who has achieved enterprise contact center certification.

In an in-person interview, Paul told us they will also soon will be one of 20 partners on WebEx Calling offering this solution.

The company offers voice services in their managed services offering. In fact, they can cover voice, video and network with their managed services. They have multiple NOCs and 24x7x365 support.

The four divisions are closely aligned. Their solutions architect will ensure there is security and a robust network. They work together to ensure things work well. In addition, PCM can work with the carrier to potentially bring in SIP trunking, SD-WAN, etc.

The organization works as a cohesive whole – the counterparts work collectively to deploy end-to end solutions.

He thinks other consultants don’t have the depth and breadth they have. They have over 1,200 technical resources on pre and post sales side of things. PCM also has massive purchasing power which helps customers stay within tight budgets.

They also partner will all major cloud and circuit providers. “We can handle it all,” he exclaimed.

They also put together custom packages with monthly subscription pricing allowing them to provide a handset, notebook, camera, etc. for a competitive price.

We call this “UCaaS in a box, it includes headset, laptop, video, whatever you need,” he said.

They focus on companies of all sizes and also have a government division.

In conclusion, he said, “We have all the puzzle pieces to be a major player.” He continued, “We have a hungry passionate team and are really making a name for ourselves in the market when it comes to collaboration.”
