Selling Junk in Response to High Oil Prices

Here is an interesting article on the rise of the garage sale as a response to higher commodity prices. Here are the top things people are selling on Craigslist:

  1. cars/trucks
  2. furniture
  3. electronics
  4. baby/kid stuff
  5. motorcycles
And here is a graph (courtesy of Gigaom) of how garage sale listings have increased as well. I should note that I have also noticed many more garage sales here in Connecticut where we call them tag sales or yard sales.
