Fly Clear

I walked by a kiosk in the Orlando airport and would have sworn it was a kiosk doing some sort of subliminal advertising for the Blue by American Express. The Kiosk which looked like a booth at our Internet Telephony Expos had computers in it and there were graphics everywhere that showed a card that looked like an American Express Blue credit card.

I went into the kiosk and said is this American Express? They told me it was Clear, a new initiative to get travelers through airport lines faster.

I read about this initiative and was pretty sure it was modeled after Israel where they use biometrics to identify you to reduce your wait time in airports. I was correct. It is a two factor ID system using a card and either iris recognition or a finger scan.

The cost is $79.95 and the TSA must approve you and continually approve you for that matter.

Apparently they only work in Orlando but hope to go to other airports soon.
