The investment environment for VoIP is pretty hot with news of funding two days in a row. Of course two data points a trend does not make but there seems to be lots of optimism left in certain segments of IP communications. Yesterday there was a VoIP peering funding announcement and today it is about mobile VoIP. EQO is a mobile solution for users of Skype, AIM, MSN Messenger and a number of other IP communications platforms. The company received $9 million in series B funding. The financing round was led by Ventures West and included investments from existing investors GrowthWorks and BDC Capital.
