Voxbone Developer Contest

I was just on the phone with Voxbone CEO Rodrigue Ullens and he was telling me about a really interesting contest his company will be running for the most innovative application based on his company’s API. Voxbone calls themselves the inbound VoIP provider and the company sells DIDs to other carriers.

Voxbone’s customers can implement white label VoIP powered by Voxbone. The first prize in the contest is a cool $10,000 and the application has to be innovative and original. The contest will be formerly announced next week at the Communications Developer Conference and you have until July 31st, 2007 to submit your application. The winner will be announced at Internet Telephony Conference & Expo this September in Los Angeles, CA.

A number of VoIP providers already use Voxbone’s API. For example, Voztelecom (www.vozip.com) provides a hosted VoIP service to carriers and service providers and has implemented Voxbone’s API in its software. This allows its customers to use the Voxbone service directly from its software. In addition, Cordia Corporation (www.magnumbers.com) has implemented its Magellan service as a white label and automated solution, using Voxbone’s API to automate the ordering and configuration of DID numbers.

Here are the Contest Specifics:

Winning projects will be selected based upon the business perspectives of the project, originality and technical capabilities.

The top three winners will receive the following benefits:
  •  Recognition as a Voxbone certified developer. Recommendation to customers and partners in need of a third-party developer for integrating the Voxbone API.
  • Marketing and promotion of winning projects to the specialized press and to Voxbone contacts
  • Listing and description of winning projects on the Voxbone website
Questions about the contest may be addressed to devcontest@voxbone.com. In addition, complete rules are available at http://www.voxbone.com/APIContest.jsf.
