2007 a Banner IP Communications Year

It is still not too late to decide to come down to ITEXPO this week in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I have been getting e-mails by the dozen from colleagues and others who are still getting very low airfares to the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale airports.

With the weather getting cold all over the country I can’t wait to be sitting in sunny Florida. Of course it isn’t like I will be getting a chance to do much sitting as I am booked with appointments all week.

What excites me most about the show is seeing what is new for 2007. I hear from virtually every company in IP communications that 2007 will be a record year. There will be lots of announcements and there are so many industry discussions I just can’t wait to have.

In addition I have been happily surprised by the number of companies who are looking to purchase product and are coming to the show to make purchasing decisions.

Aside from geopolitical incidents, it is difficult to foresee anything slowing down the communications locomotive.

Areas of hypergrowth are likely to be wireless, cable, IMS and anything related to SIP.

IMS is in a transitional period where we will all be looking to see what applications customers must have and will make service providers decide the IMS investment is fiscally sound. Gaming and entertainment will likely be among the top IMS applications in the next few years.

But as all these ideas swirl through my head I can’t stop and take a minute to thank all of my readers, my fellow TMC team members  and other supporters of TMC and our family of products. Without readers and attendees like you our business would be pretty lonely – and boring. With that, I wish you all a spectacular 2007 and I hope to see you in sunny Florida all week.

PS: Please be sure to stay till Friday so you have a chance to win the bike and the SUV.
