Martello Offers Unique SD-WAN Solutions

May 17, 2018

Martello Technologies has become one of the more interesting players in the SD-WAN space - by purchasing Elfiq - one of the first if not the first players in the space. From there, they combined SD-WAN with service assurance... From quality management to remediation.

According to Tracy King, Director of Marketing, "The layer 2 approach makes it easier to install." She continued, "You just drop in the box and it works."

She continued by explaining the company has subsecond failovers, hybrid WAN solutions, a UC site qualification tool and more. Customers can see in advance how many calls the network can concurrently support.

In addition, they offer a STREAM VPN engine which encrypts per flow and offers zero-touch provisioning.

The LBX700 Link Balancer provides throughput of 800 Mbps, 512 VPN tunnels and support for up to 14 ISPs

Tracy explained there is no limit to how many sites which can be meshed with their new ATLAS SDWAN solution.

vXchnge Data Centers differentiate with Channel Program, Uptime

May 14, 2018

As the value of cloud grows and companies realize they need greater cloud continuity, vXchnge is becoming a major player in providing cloud with greater uptime as well as flexible reseller solutions for the channel and others. In an exclusive interview with Ernest Sampera, CMO, he explained that four nines is 45 minutes a year which is too much downtime. This is why the leading carrier-neutral colocation services provider achieves greater than seven nines.

In 2017 the company secured $200 million to fuel its data center growth and now, the results of its investments have enabled the company to go to market with various solutions.

One is in\site, a business intelligence system that provides the company's customers detailed views, tools and interactions for managing their businesses and compute deployments within vXchnge data centers.

in\site provides vXchnge customers with a single-pane view, providing real-time information to support business planning and compliance governance. Key metrics for bandwidth utilization, peak power usage, power monitoring and asset tracking afford customers up-to-the-minute actionable alerting.

At ITEXPO, Cloudonix Adds Contextual Calling to Their Cost-Effective CPaaS Solution

February 13, 2018

At ITEXPO in Fort Lauderdale, I spoke with Eric Klein COO and Nir Simionovich Cloudonix.io to follow up on our conversation from last year about their communications software solution. The solution allows a carrier to provide CPaaS on a white-label basis but the solution has applications in infinite vertical markets.

Perhaps the most important new feature the platform has now is contextual communications allowing apps to have integrated communications. This is important because virtually every contact center interaction today lacks any context i.e.

Dialpad Debuts New Gmail Add-on in G Suite Marketplace

October 24, 2017

Dialpad spun out of Google for all practical purposes and still uses the Google cloud or GCP so its a natural application to be part of the new G Suite marketplace.

What does this new partnership mean to Dialpad customers? Simple... They can now access their communications - text and voice from within their email client. Specifically, when you are emailing on an Android device or desktop browser, you will see a drawer to the right allowing calls to be placed or texting to be initiated.

Once activated, the Dialpad Add-on enables users to message, call, view history or save a new contact from within Gmail.

MSP Expo: The Managed Services Opportunity has Never Been Greater

October 16, 2017

While some predicted the death of the MSP market thanks to cloud, the truth is cloud has been a double-edged sword. In the one hand, over time, the move to cloud means less money for managed service providers in terms of managing servers. However in the cases these providers are reselling cloud services there is still money to be made. Sure, it isn’t as much and it isn’t all at once but still, it is better than being cut out altogether.

Equifax Reminds us Cybersecurity is a Corporate, not IT Problem

September 26, 2017

The largest consumer breach of all time - until now comes to us courtesy of Equifax. Americans think criminal hacking is the greatest technology risk to their health, safety and prosperity and they are right. What makes this breach so bad is this hack of the personally identifiable information (PII) of 143 million people will result in breaches related to this information for years - potentially decades to come.

In real-world terms, your bank and most other organizations you do business with use certain information to ensure you are you when you call or interact with them online. This information for over one-hundred-million of us is now out in the open.

If this news isn't bad enough, there are countless Equifax phishing scams to look out for now as well.

We could go on and list how this has been the worst year ever for cyberbreaches but you likely know that by now.

In today's news, the CEO of Equifax finally was forced to step down.

Warranty Master a Must for MSPs

June 23, 2017

Many of you know I am the CEO of a tristate MSP/IT services company primarily serving NY, NJ and Connecticut and it helps me really understand how the IT market works. Most tech writers just stay in the vendor world where things work perfectly I am in the world of reality where things often don't work as advertised. The perspective is invaluable.

Even the companies with stellar reputations for simplicity and service have some products which make you want to flush them down the toilet from time to time. But you have to either use them or resell them to know this.

Array Networks Goes Virtual, Gives MSPs a new Revenue Opportunity

June 5, 2017

The load balancing market evolved into ADCs and these devices are now competing with cloud-based solutions. As this evolution has taken place, Array Networks saw an opportunity to take a page from the carrier market and explore virtualizing network functions.

In an exclusive interview with Paul Anderson, Senior Director of Marketing, he told me the company has a new network functions platform for deploying virtualized application delivery and security functions with guaranteed performance. In their testing, the company took a Fortinet firewall (with the appropriate licensing of course) and realized they could get five times better performance using software over hardware.

Forward This Post to Employees To Protect From Hackers

February 22, 2017

Although there is no guarantee you can be 100% protected against hacking, there are some basics you can share with workers to reduce the chance you will be hit by a cyberbreach such as malware or cryptolocker ransomware. Without further ado - here are the 5 Habits That Could Cause a Data Breach at Your Company

1. Clicking on random advertisements: Cybercriminals have been using fake advertisements to disguise malicious software for decades.

How ITEXPO Has Transformed into THE Communications Event

January 19, 2017

Recently, we have had a great deal of feedback from attendees commenting that ITEXPO in Florida (Yes, Florida, in February – and airfares are literally dirt cheap) has evolved to become THE communications event – for the Americas and beyond. We are humbled by the comments but the credit goes to my team who tirelessly looks to improve each event with fresh new content.

An analyst told me once that the show is so full of information that you run around like a chicken with your head cut off, except he said it Yiddish which made it sound more exotic.

I wasn’t sure at the time if it was a compliment but in a way it is the testament that the show has so much important information that you really need a team to cover it all.
