We may be one step closer to intelligently interacting with our cell phones now that Loquendo has announced their multilingual synthetic speech engine is available for the Symbian OS – the market share leader. Loquendo claims their engine sounds better than other robotic sounding products on the market and I welcome the company sending me a WAV file or two to post.
A cool tuning idea is enabling SMS abbreviations to sound good. The company also claims they are the only ones to provide mixed-language support enabling you for example to sprinkle an e-mail or SMS message with “muy importante” or “vaya con dios”
