Broadvox Acquisitions to Continue

I’m here in Dallas at the Broadvox Partner Summit 2011 and the event has grown over 60% in attendance and over 100% over last year which was the kick-off event. I just had a chance to interview Andre Temnorod, Chairman and CEO as well as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, David Byrd via a roundtable format in front of an audience of resellers and partners. Andre pointed out the company has grown over 100% YoY via the acquisition of Cypress Communications as well as organic growth. He hopes to continue this staggering growth rate for a few years to come so we can expect more acquisitions. He also mentioned the acquisitions likely won’t be for marketshare reasons – meaning we can expect companies in adjacent areas to get bought. Think of hosted email, hosted storage and other hosted adjacents such as security as obvious spaces.
The mood in the room is positive – the company is focusing carefully on explaining how the Cypress merger won’t hurt current VARs – in fact it seems to be helping in many cases. Part of the reason is Cypress is providing service virtually exclusively in a number of buildings and they also focus on larger companies than typical Broadvox customers. Moreover – the larger size of the combined companies allows better support for customers and affors Broadvox the ability to get better banking terms and relationships which will potentially mean even easier access to cash for more M&A. Go!VBX was a big focus of the event – a service with a starter package including fax, conferencing and call center features built-in. I’ll be meeting with dozens of other companies here in Dallas and am really looking forward to it.
