TMC Team

March 21, 2007

Thanks to readers like you, TMCnet has been blessed with 1-2 million unique visitors every month and last month over 20 million pages were viewed on this site. We are truly grateful to our readers, sponsors and advertisers who support this site and all other TMC products and initiatives.   Of course hats off to the TMC team who nurtures the development of our beloved communications and technology portal.   At TMC we are always innovating. We always look for ways to serve our audience better.   A number of months back an advertiser came to us and said according to his research, TMCnet is not only the top communications site in the US but the world.   The interesting part of this conversation is it seemed that not everyone knew just how popular TMCnet was outside of the US.   To rectify this situation and moreover to make it easier for those people around the world to get access to news pertaining to their interests, we embarked on developing TMCnet for various continents.   But instead of hard coding this project, we decided it would be better to build a framework which was customizable.   This would take longer but what it would allow is a fully customizable news portal by specific topic or even specific keywords.   Once this project dubbed myTMCnet was launched and working we could then easily extend it to be continent specific, country specific, topic specific, etc.   Yesterday we rolled out the beta of myTMCnet.   TMCnet has 3,000-4,000 articles, press releases and other content pouring into it daily.   We have now given the world a custom interface so they can see this news in any way they choose.   For example, if you are interested in IMS news you can add a custom box dedicated to IMS. Or perhaps you want to track SanSay or Avaya or unified communications.   It doesn’t matter.   I have found MyTMCnet is an invaluable competitive research tool allowing me to see what they are up to.

Explosive Small Business Communications Growth

March 8, 2007

Please enjoy my April 2007 Internet Telephony Magazine Publisher's Outlook. ----    You would have to be asleep to not realize how fast small business communications is growing. The reason? Small businesses didn’t have so many telecom choices a scant ten years ago. There was pretty much key systems and then some inexpensive PBXs came along thanks to AltiGen and other, similar players.   What is different now?

ITEXPO Comments on Video

February 1, 2007

Since Internet Telephony Conference & Expo last week – TMC has received a steady stream of testimonials unlike I have ever seen for any tech show ever. So many people have told me that ITEXPO in Ft. Lauderdale was the best show they have ever attended that I don’t know what to say. It has been quite amazing. Our marketing department has been scrambling just to keep up with all the testimonials that have been steadily arriving.   A few of the testimonials are up in video format already.

ITEXPO Photos and More

January 30, 2007

Here is Ari Zoldan from Launch 3 based in Garfield, NJ. His company is in the investment business - they invest in communications companies worldwide.   On this day he walked away with a great education as well as a new SUV. Wow – now that’s a show.   About 30 minutes later when I accidentally saw him on the road he seemed elated. I think the shock wore off and it turned to happiness.       Note to self.

ITEXPO East Day 4: Harley Davidson, Toyota, Skype, IMS

January 26, 2007

I woke up at 3:30 am this morning after about 4.5 hours of sleep or so. I prefer to get more but it was tough to sleep with all that is going on this week in Ft. Lauderdale. I woke to memories of the previous few days which consisted of a packed exhibit hall and some of the most in-depth networking, deal making and buying I have seen in a long while.   The TMC team has really outdone themselves this week as they really put on a fantastic event.

Open Letter to TMC Team

January 16, 2007

Open Letter to TMC Team,   We had a pizza/cookies lunch today and so many people ate at their desks we couldn’t really talk much.   The point of these lunches is to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays.   We used to have cakes for every birthday in the nineties but so many people complained they were gaining weight we stopped the practice.   Of course Bagel Friday seems to be a happy compromise as it happens only weekly and the bagels aren’t as bad for you as cake.
