Cloudstudio with Your UCaaS, Would You Like Fries With That?

McDonald’s is famous for asking customers if they want fries with their order and as a result, over the years, they have generated millions of dollars of extra profit. We can all learn a little something from this worldwide purveyor of fast food.

Far less tasty but far more profitable could be the sale of on-hold, music and messages to your customers buying a PBX, UC or UCaaS. Whether you sell Mitel, Avaya, Cisco or just about all other phone solutions, you can also sell an on-hold solution.

Recently, we had an exclusive phone interview with Mick Sakakeeny, Division President, Cloud Services at Spectrio LLC. We met the company at the recent Ideacom event in Washington, DC where Your’s Truly was a keynote speaker.

Spectrio product lines include Intellitouch, Cloudstream and Cloudstudio. The Intellitouch OHP9000-IP is a dualzone network audio player which handles music-on-hold (MOH) as well as overhead music and announcements. Cloudstream powers a web management platform allowing the update of content from any browser and simple and advanced scheduling.

The company supplies 70 handcrafted music stations stripped of offensive content which sell for $30/month. There is a free basic MOH plan as well as a premium plan for $10/month which includes hundreds of music backgrounds and pre-voiced messages.

Cloudstudio is a telephony audio platform which requires no hardware and it works with premise and cloud UC solutions. The OHP8000 USB Audio Player works with Cloudstudio. Once powered by PC-based MessageStudio, Cloudstudio has now replaced it.

Cloudstudio costs $80/year which includes hundreds of music backgrounds and pre-voiced messages. There is also a scriptwriter with templates for general and specific industries such as auto dealers. It works with the OHP8000 USB Audio Player.

There are also voice read packages – these allow a company to record messages read by professional talent.

The channel, resellers, VARs, interconnects, MSPS, dealers, etc. can see 20% commission. These resellers get a unique URL to give to customers. The URL is tracked and the partner receives commission over time – which are paid monthly.

The bottom line is resellers have an opportunity for more recurring revenue and in a world where smaller monthly payments are supposed to make up for larger one-time commissions, every little bit helps. Oh, and it’s Atkins friendly. smiley-wink
