Cisco rules Q4 Enterprise VoIP
A quarterly research report Enterprise VoIP Equipment: Q4 2004 Update published by iLocus today reveals that Cisco dominates the IP Phones, IP PBX, and Enterprise VoIP gateway segments.
In Q4 2004, Cisco had market shares of 37%, 27%, and 57% respectively in IP Phones, IP PBX, and Enterprise VoIP gateway segments.
According to the report, an estimated 1.29 million desktop IP phones were shipped in Q4 of the year 2004, thereby generating a revenue of about $193.66 million worldwide.
In Q4, migration of enterprise voice networks towards IP systems had a major boost accounting for a high volume of IP PBX shipments. Vendors shipped a total of about 2.03 million IP PBX end user licenses in the quarter, thereby generating revenue of $205.59 million.
The report also estimates market size and market shares in segments including Enterprise VoIP Gateways, Voice-enabled 802.11 Chipsets, VoIP-over-WiFi Handsets, and ATAs.
