I have gotten more than one comment (see the bottom of the page) from people who tell me that IMS will enable service providers to lock in customers and provide walled gardens, in effect keeping customers hostage. Not everyone shares this opinion. The technology is no new we need to have an open mind and not dismiss IMS and in effect throw out the baby with the bathwater. Dan Dearing of NexTone presents a positive case for IMS and how service providers should adopt the technology as quickly as possible. Nice job Dan.
