Packet8 Voice Recording
July 13, 2007
Packet8 is now offering professional voice recording for it’s Virtual Office Hosted iPBX Phone Services. These prompts can also be used for website narration and PowerPoint presentations.
I believe this is a great innovation from parent company 8x8. My definition of a VoIP innovation for the record is anything useful that we don’t have easy access to on the PSTN.
So my two cents on this news is, it is great for Packet8 customers. While this service may not be applicable for all small businesses, certainly professionally recorded voice prompts make a small business seem big.
For my fellow bloggers who are on the leading edge and who may say this is not an innovative service… The typical SMB is about 5-10 years behind the leading edge. Something like this is not a technological feat, it is something that will be useful for SMBs and is packaged in a way that allows the small business owner to spend more time running her/his business.
