If you didn’t acquire a company, have an IMS or IPTV (video) product at SuperComm, you may as well not have been there. WiFi telephony was hot as well but at least in my meetings the focus was on the first 3 items above. I will write more about my meetings soon. In a nutshell there is renewed optimism in all communications markets. One vendor was worried that IPTV is overhyped and others seem to be confused about what IMS is. IMS is a very confusing topic and our cover story on the topic in the June issues of Internet Telephony Magazine seemed to help clear up some confusion. We will be writing more about IMS online at TMCnet as well as in ITMAG. We will have extensive content on both topics at Internet Telephony Conference & Expo this fall. June 9, 2005 at 11:59 pmInteresting that on the show floor, not a lot of vendors were pushing IMS that hard. (Sonus and Nortel played it up, but it seemed to me that other vendors like Lucent, Alcatel, and Siemens had it more “behind the curtain”.)
