Vonage Has Better Quarter

While the NJ based VoIP company had a better quarter than a year ago, they are still working on the “workaround” which will keep them from infringing on the Verizon patents.

"We believe we have workable designs for the two name translation patents and intend to begin deploying the solution to our customers shortly. In addition, we are continuing our development of the workaround for the wireless patent,” Vonage CEO Jeffrey Citron stated.

If the company is able to really come up with such workarounds can they resell them to others? Could the workarounds be patented already by another company who is out for blood? I tell you… This IP communications market is a thrill a minute. And to think, my friends think my job is boring. 😉

Here is the full story and some interesting commentary from Aswath I happened upon recently.
