Of course this is not the first time a wireless carrier has allowed customers access to VoWiFi but BT’s new WiFi telephony service costs only of £5/month when you subtract out the bundled Office Anywhere service which costs £5 as well.
Recently I praised the British carrier for experimenting and being innovative even if they aren’t successful (read BT Fusion Gone) at everything they do. Hopefully this new initiative which uses the HTC S710 and S620 smartphones at no extra cost will be as successful as possible for the company and will lead to other wireless carriers around the world following suit.
