Yahoo has a store in Vancouver where the idea seems to be to highlight the company’s strength as a sports portal. Many people were in the store on a Saturday afternoon taking pictures, getting free hot drinks, surfing Winter Olympics news on huge flat screen monitors and being video interviewed.

It seems to have a similar energy level to an Apple store and this begs the question, will web portals be next to start opening retail stores in a mall near you? I can already imagine Google stores being ubiquitous… How about you?
