A friendly neighborhood reminder from the folks at Verizon Wireless notes that motorists in Connecticut have until�Saturday to obtain a hands-free devices for their wireless phones.� Indeed, pursuant to a new statute that goes into effect Oct. 1, motorists in the Nutmeg State face fines of up to $100 for chatting on their mobile phones without a hands-free device.

As a Connecticut resident, I'm somewhat troubled by the cell phone law.� Specifically, it will be more difficult to�tell the difference between someone who is talking on a hands-device and someone who is just a plain old kook who is talking to no one in particular.��
