Vonage slaps AT&T with lawsuit...

Vonage has sued AT&T for trademark infringement, alleging that the name of AT&T's newly launched VoIP service (CallVantage) is confusingly similar to its company and product name.

Google's redesign

Well, you probably noticed Google changed its look by now. Although, it took some convincing to prove to a co-worker of mine that Google did indeed change its look. What seemed obvious to me wasn’t to him. I guess it helped that Google kept the same clean look and feel. Anyway, Google added some new search features. Google Personalized Web Search (http://labs.google.com/personalized) lets users set preferences that are used to tailor search-engine results to a user's specific interests. Basically, you setup your Profile with certain categories of interest and I guess the search results are weighted by your interests. I’m not so sure it’s worth the effort to define categories for me. I do such a wide range of Googling – everything from computers to cooking to finding an auto repair place that weighted categories seem pointless to me. Google also revamped its main search site's user interface. The redesign adds links across the top of the search query box to other Google search services, including Google's Froogle shopping search site (http://www.google.com/froogle) They have one other new feature - with (Google Web Alerts), users can track specific keywords and receive daily or weekly e-mails with links to search results and Google News stories based on those keywords. Now this is something worth checking out! TMC’s site does this “keyword subscription” as well (right on the home page – http://www.tmcnet.com) and we have many avid fans of it (myself included).
