Windows 8 Tablets Will Beat Apple & Android

December 5, 2012

After using and testing the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700t (XE700T1C) for a few weeks I've come to the conclusion that Windows 8 tablets will without a doubt beat Apple iPad tablets and Android tablets. The reason is simple actually and can be summed up in just two words - "No compromise". With Apple tablets and even Android tablets there is always some compromise. With Apple, the biggest compromise is the lack of Flash and if I hear one more person tell me Flash is dead and HTML5 is the way to go I'm going to smack them!

Ogaco iKazoo, the Strangely Fascinating Gadget, Motion Controller & Flute

November 30, 2012

Ogaco reached out to me to tell me about their new product called iKazoo. iKazoo looks like a Kazoo but with a curved bump in the middle. It has several sensors and can be used as a motion controller for video games, but it is also a music instrument and a digital pen for drawing on tablets.

Two (presumably) Indian Persian sisters have a YouTube video promoting the new iKazoo.

magicJack vs netTALK vs Ooma vs. Obihai

June 22, 2012

Now that I have tested magicJack, netTALK, and Ooma, three of the leading super low-cost phone service providers, I thought it was time to do a detailed comparison of these VoIP providers, as well as a relatively new wildcard - Obihai, a BYOD VoIP hardware provider. First, if interested in the in-depth standalone reviews I've done in the past, you can check these out:
Each of the four have their strengths and weaknesses and none of them is immune to typical VoIP problems such as latency, jitter, or packet loss. Ooma however stands slightly above magicJack and netTALK when it comes to mitigating VoIP voice quality problems. The reason is two fold.

March 7, 2012

Apple launched their new iPad today. Here's a run down of all the cool new features in the new iPad, which was rumored to be called the iPad 3, iPad 3rd Generation, or iPad HD. The new iPad will be available in black & white colors. There are two wireless options available: 4G LTE or Fast 3G HSDPA and DC-HSDPA.
