The Best Gadget of the Summer?

So many gadgets, so little time ...

Wanted to open up the lines of communication and hear from you about what you consider the best gadget of the summer.

It can be a pure summer play -- like a CD radio that also includes a fan to keep you cool -- or it could be an all-around handy dandy gadget -- like a DVR/VCR combo unit. Or anything else for that matter.

Let us hear from you on your favorite -- and why (in 50 words or less, please).

Our expert panel will judge all entries and one lucky winner will receive some kind of gadget from us -- no, it won't be an iPod, like so many other offers ... or something from Pirates of the Caribbean either ...

So let us hear from you!

Nokia E70. Good GSM phone, takes 2mp pictures, downloads and plays podcasts, email/web via WiFi or GPRS/EDGE with a real web browser, sends/receives email. One device that does everything I need when I'm on the go.

So far my very best gadget of the summer is my Danby portable air-conditioner...move it into the hot room, stick the hose out the window...ahhh sweet comfort (see here in the rain forest we only need AC for like 3 weeks a year so no one really has centrallized AC in their homes).

A close second would be a tie between my Nokia N70 and my good old iPod.

It's not a new gadget, but the fact that is gives me instant access to over 1800 songs that I like where ever I am, makes my iPod my favorite gadget!!!!

What radio station out there let's a listener go from Genesis to Slayer to Radiohead without commercials?

Some good ones so far ...

How about a Katusha Rocket!

Now that's interesting ...

>>How about a Katusha Rocket!

Is this a bad attempt at humor or are you cheering the 1950's-made Russian rockets that are killing innocent civilians? Mostly Jews, but also Muslims.

How bout picking your favorite gadget that helps people - not kills them? After all, gadgets are supposed to be fun and make your life easier -- not take lives.

BTW - it's spelled Katyusha
