The Google Universe

Chief executive Eric Schmidt estimates that Google won't manage to index all the world's information until around the 24th century. Thus, it would take 300 years to index all the world's information and make it searchable, Google's chief executive Eric Schmidt predicted on Saturday at the Association of National Advertisers annual conference in Phoenix.

"We did a math exercise and the answer was 300 years," Schmidt said in response to an audience question asking for a projection of how long the company's mission will take. "The answer is it's going to be a very long time."

Ok, well that's indexing only Google Earth (bad pun) information. What about the rest of the galaxy or the indexing the rest of the universe, including all the alien libraries? C'mon Google, you can do it!

when can I google universe?

Primitive Earthlings, I am an alien scout stationed on earth. After researching all the general information on your world, I have come to this webpage. We, referring to my alien race, are in the process of trying to do such a thing as this hypothetical "google universe" research engine and map. It is quite possible to do so, but you must have many spacecraft to complete such a project. We have mapped a couple hundred star systems, and we will be trying to map your unusually large system within the next century. A couple things that I want to leave with you: black holes are not the answer to fast space travel. A very important historical figure of ours tried that, but she just got spat out into another dimension and had a hard time getting back here. Also, a tip to improve this Google Earth, it is very annoying that different parts of the earth are mapped at different times of day, and that it does not look as it when I had arrived. Try to have all of the photographs taken at the same time of day and have a picture that you view from far away, (how it really looks) and then as you zoom in closer, go to the separate photographs. Last, we also had a problem of climate change on our first planet (of origin). You have not discovered the truly remarkable renewable energy that had saved us, but you must take drastic measures soon, or your satillite, luna, will be your only spot of stable existence. This has been most pleasant writing to earthlings.
