Lingo offers 7 digit dialing

As a Vonage user, one of my pet-peeves was having to dial a full 10-digits - even when dialing the local pizzeria, the local chinese restaurant down the street, etc.

I never understood why Vonage or any VoIP voice provider for that matter couldn't simply detect your local region based on your VoIP phone number and then simply pre-pend the area code for you, allowing you to dial a phone number without an area code. As a computer engineer, I know it's so simple to program it's ridiculous!

Well, Lingo now offers 7-digit dialing effective today. Let's hope Vonage, AT&T CallVantage, Broadvoice, Packet8, and the others follow suit.

I'm a Vonage customer and they have offered 7-digit dialing for a long time now.

Lingo is a rip off. I was overcharged me about $88. Calls does not get disconnected even after you hang up. Outages are common. Poor customer service. Had it for a month and cancelled it and filed complaints with bbb.org, fcc.gov also a dispute with my credit card company. Overall it sucks.

more on your lingo problem please..here's mine...

I have no VoIP light....
so an intermidable, infallably polite, customer service has gone over and over the same things while assuring me that at any moment, should i be willing to do just as they say, i will be referred to "level two" (who seems to be somewhere in virginia and in whom rests the power to bequeath upon me the title and status given to few)....
i will become the happy holder of a "trouble ticket" which bears the stamp "faulty equipment" .
Sadly, "level two" (the one in virginia or, at the very least, the one not available until i have spoken to EVERYONE in "level one" ") cannot respond to my problem until i do just one more cycle of plugging and unplugging ( or is it the other way around?)
yesterday i was told twice that i had passed the test and that "level two " was now working on it...my cell phone then quit AFTER 6 HOURS OF OVER AND OVER.
i now have a $192.00 cell phone bill and my service has been shut off.
since by the time my cellphone battery died the little grey box had stopped communicating ,(no signal) with no change or adjustment at all to the equipment, i am guilty of assuming that we had done all that was necessary and that, as i fitfully slept, "level two" was busily musing and mulling, examining and extracting from the ample evidence attaining the inescapable conclusion that...yes..the little box was "faulty".
but it was not to be... as it turns out, at 5 am this morning when i called, i had yet to satisfy "level one's" curiosity as to how many other things could be the problem.
i took note of this and mentioned at the time to the gentle, faultless representative, that we have not added any new notes to our repertoire and that the same little song, however sweet and promising at the start, had become somewhat grating and a bit vacuous ......
OKAY! so i didn't say it quite in that way...
i did reassure that "faulty" was the word that would turn our collaboration into community ....not faulty service...not faulty representative....not faulty LINGO...."faulty little grey box".
apparently this dispensation is available only through those who i have yet to talk to so
in 15 minutes i will drive back to my studio in 5 degrees winter cold and in the dark...(it is now 6am and i have been on the phone with them for 1 hour.)
once there, we will, once again, inquire into the programing of my computer, the number associated with my relationship with earthlink DSL, my location......etc.
guided by the kind man sitting somewhere that is not in my studio, i will enter on my address line 172.25.25.1...(i have already done this 11 times) i will then press "enter" and the game will begin.
thank you for listening

These criminals are the scum of the earth! They overcharged my bank card and cost me three $35.00 overdraft charges! I emailed my bank statement showing their criminality and they refuse to reimburse me for the $105.00. I will be suing them in small claims court and I will be relentless in revealing their criminal enterprise. Do yourself a favor and run from these creeps! Don't let them screw you as they have me. They don't even deserve a rating, they're world-class losers! One thing, revenge is sweet! Lingo, you screwed with the wrong dude this time you filthy scum!
