A Gadget Makes the Perfect Valentine's Day Gift

Seems like gadgets aren't such a strange Valentine's Day gift after all.  According to an article in yesterday's San Francisco Chronicle, chocolates and roses are moving out of the way this year to make room for a more gadget-centric V Day.

In fact, pink and red seem to be the hot colors this year -- and I'm talking cell phones, digital cameras and the like. Apparently, a pink Motorola Razr mobile phone, for example, has been flying off of the shelves at Cingular Wireless.

Of course, these aren't the only popular colors -- black and silver do quite nicely too. Don't forget a Hallmark card to make the day complete.

I think the time to give flowers to a girl are going by... Most girls will prefer digital foto or mobile phone, I`m surewink

I read the articles you linked to and I think that every year following is going to become more and more about gadgets and widgets and less about the true romance of the holiday. I thought Valentine's Day was supposed to be about seduction, romance and understanding all born out of love. The commercialization of the holiday is becoming more of a burden to bear each year. I noticed your announcement of the difference in sales and saw a hint of you wanting to say something about it. What was it that you wanted to say? Does it annoy you that the holiday is becoming less about love and flowers and more about expensive gifts? What do you think about the difference this will make in the holiday? I'm very familiar with the advertising industry and what this will mean for that industry but what do you think this will do to the technology industry?

Red roses worked out for me very welltongue

That is very true. This year I got a pink mp3 from my boyfriend. In return, I gave him a black wrist band with red linings. Despite of the gadget-centered gift giving customs nowadays, roses and dinner in fancy restaurants still remain as the one of the most romantic ways to show how much you love your partner. Of course, this is from a hopeless-romantic's point of view.

I still prefer the old fashioned way and give a bunch of roses or a relaxing SPA weekend. for me that is more emotional than some electronic stuff.

Hello.
I recently saw an article written by a professor, which confirm that what is written here. I agree with that.
