I was reading Mark Evan's blog which pointed to a post by Terry Frazier stating that Skype is "disruptive but not compelling". He continues by saying, "I've removed all Skype add-ons - Pamela, Jyve, Vskype/festoon, HotRecorder - and logged out of my Skype account. I'm not ditching Skype, but I am recognizing what it is." It's an interesting post worth a look.
