It is with great sadness that I learned that "Scotty" James Doohan, the chief engineer of the Starship Enterprise in the original “Star Trek” series and motion pictures died early Wednesday. I grew up watching the original Star Trek series which was way ahead of its time and cancelled prematurely. Scotty was a perfect compliment to the cast, and by all accounts he was a good person in real life. I wish the Doohan family well.
If you believe in an afterlife then Scotty has beamed up to the hereafter...I wonder if his last words were "Beam me up, God"...
