Supercomm is no more

When I first read an email saying Supercomm is no more, I was like first Comdex died and now this?

Supercomm is "retired" according to an email I received announcing the news. Actually, just the name is retired - the new name is going to be caled "Globalcomm". The partnership between Telecommunications Industry Association and the U.S. Telecommunications Association apparently has ended and they are going their separate ways with their own competing tradeshows. The two competing tradeshows are called Globalcomm and Telecom

Here's the body of the email:
The Telecommunications Industry Association and the U.S. Telecommunications Association have announced they will dissolve their partnership in producing the annual Supercomm conference and expo, following the June 6 - 9, 2005 edition. As the Supercomm name is jointly owned, it will be retired following the '05 show. Moving forward, both professional associations will pursue their own events: USTA will expand its Telecom event (taking place next week, October 9 - 13, in Las Vegas), while TIA will launch a new event, to be called Globalcomm, and which will debut June 5 - 8, in Chicago. The new Globalcomm conference will be managed by the International Engineering Consortium, which has been responsible for the Supercomm conference.
