PlayStation 3 at $499 & Up?

Sony and Microsoft used to compete head to head in video gaming consoles, but with Sony announcing PlayStation 3 prices at $499 (basic) and $599 (souped up), they now seem to be at a major competitive disadvantage with Microsoft on a key issue -- price.  Xbox 360 is at $299 and $399.

And where does the new Nintendo box fit into all of this?

This should really heat up the war between Microsoft and Sony. I wonder what consumers will decide - price or power?

Price vs. Power -- now that's the name of the game!

PlayStation 3 is going to be great. Blu-ray isn't Betamax as many say, it will truly be a format that people use. It has so many advantages over Microsoft and Nintendo. Over the Xbox 360, PS3 will have motion detection in the controllers, a 60 GB HD, blu-ray playing (those will cost 700+ when they come out), exclusivity in games, better processor, and the fan base. I can't wait.
