Amway is a multi-level marketing (MLM) company that rewards its affiliates based on a pyramid-type scheme. Though technically not a pyramid scheme since those are illegal.

basically MLM companies have you sign up people underneath you, say it's 3 for your 1st level. You get a percentage on those people. Then those people sign up 3 people. You get a slighly lower percentage for this 2nd level. Then these 3 sign up another 3, etc. etc.
