Hello,
I have stared a discussion board aimed at putting pressure on the media, govt, and car industry to make affordable electric cars available in the UK. If you would like to join in the debate, please see;
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/electriccarsUK/
Here is a synopsis;
"Electric vehicles are a more environmentally friendly form of transport than petrol or diesel vehicles, especially if they are recharged from a sustainable electricity source.
This group is dedicated to finding out what we can do to make more affordable electric vehicles available to buy in the UK. This group's emphasis is on trying to persuade car manufacturers and the government to do more to make electric vehicles available in the UK.
If you're not sure about joining this discussion group why not pay Moira Govan's site - http://www.evuk.co.uk a visit first. This is a taste of the kinds of issues we discuss here.
To stop spam, new members need to be "approved", and new members' messages need to be "approved" before they are posted on the board - I'll try to keep your wait as short as possible. You will have the option to hide your e-mail address if you do not wish others to see it.
To get a feel for what the group is about if you join, please go to the files section and download the welcome message.
Although the group is called Electric Cars UK we welcome discussions about any type of electric vehicle (busses, scooters etc.)
Those who wish to discuss the technicalities of building your own electric car please see the diy_ev_cars group (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/diy_ev_cars/), although you are of course welcome to share the non-technical facts about your car here too!"
