GIPS Lands 51.com
January 2, 2008
After some recent bad news, including their competitor Spirit DSP landing China's Huawei Technologies, GIPS has landed a heavyweight to license their technology. Today, Global IP Solutions (GIPS), was been selected by '51.com' to power its instant messaging with voice application for its 90 million users in China. 51.com, a Chinese-based blog community with social networking features, is using GIPS VoiceEngine PC advanced to drive its voice over IP application.51.com launched the new IM service called "51 guagua" on January 1, 2008. GIPS helped 51.com reduce its time-to-market. Shanghai-based, 51.com is one of the most popular Internet portals in China with more than 5 million new users joining every month," said Wendy Toth, Chief Marketing Officer at GIPS.
