Skype to Name New CEO

According to Techcrunch, Skype is going to name a new CEO to replace Josh Silverman Techcrunch theorizes, and I agree, that this could be a setup for a pending IPO. Skype is participating at ITEXPO, so I'll see if I can find out more.

Ringio On InPhonex Launches at ITEXPO

According to a InPhonex and Ringio representative, "More than 90 percent of U.S. companies are small and medium-size businesses (SMBs), and forward-thinking service providers are recognizing the limitless opportunities in the SMB market. Meanwhile, telecommunications services consistently rank in the top 3 biggest expenses for SMBs. In light of these factors, InPhonex and Ringio have joined forces to create a service – Ringio On InPhonex (ROI) – that brings SMBs intelligent, virtual PBX features and functionality along with lower telecom costs." They claim Ringio On InPhonex has an average cost per user of about $40 per month for unlimited calling and an end-to-end solution.

Panasonic Demos their HD Visual Communications System

Attendees of the 2010 World Business Forum will see the Panasonic HD Visual Communications System (HDVC) in action. As the Official Video Conference System of this year’s Forum, the Panasonic HDVC will take center stage for use during long-distance Q&A sessions. The World Business Forum takes place October 5 and 6 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. It's too bad I'm in the opposite Coast in Los Angeles, California attending ITEXPO, since I would have liked to have checked this out in person. Come to think of it, they should be exhibiting at ITEXPO as well, since one of their competitors Vu Telepresence is exhibiting at ITEXPO.

I'm pretty excited about TMC's upcoming Internet Telephony Conference & Expo (ITEXPO) happening in Los Angeles, California. XConnect Partners with Polycom, BroadSoft and Dialogic to Increase HD Voice Adoption

XConnect is announcing a four-company initiative to promote HD voice adoption among U.K. service providers. This follows on the news they announced at TMC's ITEXPO where XConnect announced the world's first HD voice peering federation, in the U.S., with the goal of incrasing global HD voice uptake.

In summary, XConnect is announcing that it is joining with Polycom, BroadSoft and Dialogic to launch an educational and marketing campaign to reach U.K. operators.

Trend Micro and Symantec Exhibiting at MSPWorld / ITEXPO

Both Trend Micro and Symantec have announced they are exhibiting at MSPWorld co-located with TMC's ITEXPO in Los Angeles. I'm a huge fan of both Symantec and Trend Micro. They both make very good antivirus, anti-Spam and Internet security software. Symantec also makes backup software in hosted and customer premise versions. I've used several of their products in the past. Can't wait to check them out when I attend ITEXPO / MSPWorld in early October. As I already recently mentioned, ITEXPO is beating estimates and MSPWorld is doing quite nicely as well. Hope to see you at the show in Los Angeles.

Microsoft to Exhibit at MSPWorld

Microsoft just announced they are exhibiting at MSPWorld co-located with TMC's ITEXPO in Los Angeles. ITEXPO is already beating estimates and MSPWorld is doing quite nicely as well.

Pre-Registration for ITEXPO Trending 70 Percent Ahead of 2009

I'm obviously going to be there to check out and write about the latest happenings in VoIP, 4G, smart grid, cloud communications, and more.
