Today, SimpleSignal is announcing that it has successfully married Microsoft Exchange 2007 with its BroadSoft-based Hosted PBX offering to offer a new solution called SimplyMobile. SimplyMobile offers some really cool features, such as the ability to listen to emails from any phone -- even a mobile device by leveraging TTS (text-to-speech). Also, it features the ability for users to use voice commands to call the people who emailed them.
They espouse the ability to be driving and listening to your emails and then verbally deleting them. So as you commute to the office, instead of having 200 emails to read when you arrive in the office, you only have 50. Definitely a useful tool for multitaskers like myself. Guess you email fanatics won't need to be checking your Blackberry at dinner any more.
SimplyMobile also allows SMBs to use voice commands over a mobile phone to make changes to their Outlook calendar. For instance, if you are running behind for an appointment so you want to push it back 15 minutes. You call into your SimplyMobile unified communications service and move the appointment back. Exchange then sends out an email notification of the change to the meeting participants.
I like how SimplyMobile uses Active Directory as the center of user provisioning. Because it is a part of Exchange Server 2007, users can take advantage of usernames, full names, and department names that are already in the system. Additionally, incoming calls are automatically synced with Exchange contact information; instead of just seeing a phone number, the name of the person leaving a message is also displayed. Any user listed in our on-line Self-Service Portal can be quickly enabled for Hosted Unified Communications.

New Hosted VoIP Service Lets Mobile Workers Listen to Emails and Manage Microsoft Outlook Calendar with Voice Commands
SimpleSignal announces general availability of 'SimplyMobile,' a Hosted Unified Communications solution
DANA POINT, CA, July 31, 2008 -- Today, SimpleSignal, Inc., a leader in hosted business telephone systems announces the general availability of an innovative Unified Communications solution combining feature-rich hosted PBX with hosted Microsoft® Exchange 2007 delivering a voice-enabled messaging solution for SMBs. The integrated solution, called SimplyMobile, delivers a new paradigm in business voice communications by enabling users to listen to their emails and manage calendar items in Microsoft® Outlook® using voice commands from any telephone, including mobile devices.
With SimplyMobile, email and voice services are hosted, allowing end-users to focus on managing their business, rather than managing their communications infrastructure. In addition to voice and email features available in high-end systems, this unique solution translates emails from text to speech and allows users to call Outlook contacts via voice commands on a mobile phone. Users can even verbally change the time of a meeting in their calendar and Exchange will send an email notification of the change to the meeting participants.
"Today's worker is mobile and needs one solution to manage their voicemail, email and calendar from any location at anytime," said Dave Gilbert, president of SimpleSignal. "The convenience of having emails read while on the move and using voice commands to call contacts and manage calendars makes it incredibly easy for users to communicate, collaborate, and share information."
SimpleSignal teamed with Chinook Hosting, a leading hosted solutions company, to provide the hosted Exchange services for SimplyMobile. "Hosted Unified Communications represents a fundamental shift in the way business people communicate," said Tim Ritchie, vice president of sales for Chinook Hosting. "The integration of voice and business communication applications will lead to dramatically increased productivity by automating call tracking and response while dramatically increasing first attempt contacts."
SimplyMobile is available through SimpleSignal starting at $59.95 per user per month, including Hosted Exchange 2007 with 2 gigabyte of storage and an unlimited North American calling plan. Value-added resellers should go to http://simplesignal.com/partners.php.
