I’m here at Internet Telephony Conference & Expo which promises to be the best VoIP tradeshow and conference ever! There is lots of hot news coming out at the show and I’ll be reporting it live on my blog. Today is just the VoIP conferences (no exhibits), with some really great VoIP conferences going on that I hope to attend. Tomorrow, the main event- the exhibit hall opens with some really cool keynote speakers including AT&T, Avaya, Polycom and Siemens. On Wednesday, Internet Telephont Expo will have some really great speakers, including industry pioneer, and CEO of Skype, Niklas Zennström. Lucent and Nortel will also be keynoting.

I’m blogging using a WiFi connection in the show registration area. Already I can feel the electricity in the air and the anticipation of what promises to be the best VoIP show ever!

Here's what others have to say about VoIP Conference Tradeshow Update

I would like to start a VoIP consumer service similar to Vonage or Lingo.

Does anyone have any suggestions for Hosted VoIP Solutions providers which provide termination, billing and set-up.

Try www.telic.net and http://www.voipamerica.com/ (recently bought by VoIP, Inc.) They will have what you are looking for.

Thanks for the info.

What is the best billing software for consumer VoIP?

Do you have any recommendations for application providers and applications for VoIP?

Thanks

Both of those companies I mentioned do "soup to nuts", everything from termination to billing. If you want ala carte and just buy a billing piece, there are more VoIP billing solutions than I can count. I will list a couple off the top of my head to get you started, but these are not endorsements - Rodophi and MindCTI. If you want a comprehensive list, go here and do a search on billing on the last drop-down box.
Internet Telephony Buyer's Guide

but again, if you want to go the hosted route, the soup-to-nuts solution from Telic or VoIP Americas should suit your needs.

I am looking at attending a couple of VoIP shows this year. Can anybody recommend the best? Thanks.

The best VoIP conference? Well, I recommend Internet Telephony Expo (www.itexpo.com). It's twice a year and has a show on the East and West Coast. One is usually in L.A. and the other in Miami. This VoIP conference has excellent speakers, very good developer conference sessions, and has exhibits to check out the latest VoIP stuff. If you want an education on VoIP, this is the place to be!

VON is also a good show, but tends to draw more vendors than everyday buyers. Lots of partnerships happen between vendors at VON - but at Internet Telephony Expo as well.

I think because Internet Telephony Magazine promotes Internet Telephony Expo that this show is able to draw service providers, vendors, and buyers of VoIP equipment. So there's a more diverse crowd at this VoIP conference.

I was at the last two Internet Telephony conferences and I've attended other conferences as well. All in all I'd say I was satisfied the most with TMC's Internet Telephony conferences.

A tradeshow is good for one thing. The shockies and the tradeshow parties! : ) Ok, I guess that was two good reasons to attend a tradeshow.
