wIPphone is offering unlimited numbers free of charge to select cities (over 900) in the U.S. and countries worldwide. Thus, you can for instance have the ever-popular New York number, as well as a number in California, or wherever.
There FAQ states:
Can I get a regular or toll-free US phone number attached to my wIPphone?
Yes, you can order as many phone numbers associated with your wIPphone as you like. So, when anyone dials any of those numbers from a regular phone, your wIPphone will ring. This is a very powerful feature that allows businesses to have a virtual US presence in over 900 cities, and is a big money saver for families and friends that live far away. In fact, as an added bonus, you can get a free New York phone number whenever you sign up with one of our calling plans (except "Basic").
They also offer North America rates for .8 cents per minute.
Additionally, wIPphone offers what they claim is the first VoIP local access number network providing free local numbers for the top 20 U.S. cities.
Also, callers to these numbers will be able to reach any wIPphone subscriber in the world for the price of a local call.
Currently, landline and VoIP service customers pay a monthly line charge for each number in a local market. Using wIPphone's local access network, callers can now dial an area code specific number along with the wIPphone number to be connected.
This unique feature allows businesses to have a local market presence in many different cities. It also enables branch offices, travelers, family & friends to call you for the price of a local call.

hi amro hoe gat het??
I went to the website and was frustrated. Even though they mention .8 cents/minute on the main page, when I went to the rates page I was never able to find it. Also, I could not find a map or listing of what cities have access numbers. So I gave up pursuing it further.
Maybe you can help me. Currently I have a branch office in Prague, Czech Republic for my New York based company. I have been considering Wipphone, would you recommend it over Vonage?
There is very little information on Wipphone so it is hard to determine, just yet, if they are better or worse then Vonage. Currently they are cheaper, but obviously with phone service being essential cheaper is not always the best. On eopinions Vonnage got terrible ratings for customer service.
Have any advice?
Thank you Karen
Skype is offering free VoIP to PSTN phones too in US AND Canada. Its a golden time for VoIP users.
