High Energy Prices May Extend Well Into 2006

October 3, 2005

Energy shortages and a six-month wait for energy prices and production to find their way back to levels that existed prior to the double hit of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

That's the brutal assessment coming from Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman, who is describing "a very challenging time the next six months, is my guess," according to a report.

"Both in terms of gasoline availability and [prices of] natural gas and heating oil, we're going to have some problems," he said, according to the report.
