Frost & Sullivan Honors BeVocal

August 4, 2005

Hosted call automation solutions provider was happy to announce today that Frost & Sullivan awarded BeVocal with its "Product Differentiation Innovation Award." The award was bestowed on BeVocal's portfolio of speech-enabled hosted self-service applications. The hosted delivery is key (and I'm sure part of the "innovation" citation), because it allows smaller companies that couldn't begin to afford premises-based versions of this sophisticated but extremely useful technology.

Congratulations to BeVocal. The full release is below.

Company Recognized for its Ability to Develop and Advance Products and Services with More Innovative Capabilities than Competing Vendors

Mountain View, CA - August 2, 2005 - BeVocal, a leading provider of hosted call automation solutions to service providers and enterprises, today announced it has received Frost & Sullivan's Product Differentiation Innovation Award. The award recognizes the vendor that has best demonstrated the ability to develop and/or advance products with innovative capabilities and differentiate itself from its competitors. BeVocal was recognized for its robust portfolio of speech-enabled hosted self-service applications that give customers a revenue-enhancing alternative to owning and operating complex and extensive premise-based infrastructure.

"After doing extensive research, we selected BeVocal as the standout player in this category due to the company's hosted services business model, performance-based pricing and innovation in customer ownership-enhancing services," said Krithi Rao, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan. "BeVocal does a solid job as an end-to-end solutions provider, taking care of application development, deployment, hosting and ongoing management and maintenance. The company's focus on post-deployment application tuning has proven highly effective for its clients, helping some achieve close to a 70% increase in call deflection rates within 12 months."

The award recognizes BeVocal's innovation in several areas:

Hosted services business model: helps clients achieve quick time to market, as well as quick return on investment (ROI) Pre-tuned application modules, application development methodology, and pool of speech experts: enable the rapid design and deployment of complex speech self-service systems Performance-based pricing: bases pricing on application performance, with minimum guaranteed levels of automation Service and support strategies: put a strong emphasis on post-deployment performance and tuning to ensure clients meet their customer care automation and caller satisfaction goals Customer ownership-enhancing services: include Client Command Center and BeVocal Café, resources that give call center managers the tools to develop their own applications and monitor application and system performance "We are delighted that Frost & Sullivan has recognized BeVocal's self-service voice application solutions as the most innovative in the industry," said Mikael Berner, CEO of BeVocal. "We pride ourselves on providing high performing call automation solutions to our clients that deliver post-deployment value while minimizing their investment risk. BeVocal's profitability, increase in installed base, and continuous growth are testament to the success of this model."

The Frost & Sullivan Product Differentiation Innovation Award recipient is selected by a team of analysts that track competing market participants' product differentiation strategies through ongoing research consisting of market participant interviews, end-user surveys, and extensive secondary research. The data compiled through this research is analyzed based upon specific measurement criteria for this award, including degree of differentiation innovation compared to other participants, positive impact on sales, time-to-market and benefit to end-users.
